I was about 8 years old when my father alluded to Rabelasian scatalogy (lit), so I purloined a copy (in translation, I'm sad to say!) from the bookshelf. Lolita caught my eye at about the same time...

I'm reminded, though, that a lot of Rabelais' best work is punctuated by fart jokes.

Toward the end was one of the best scenes, imho, where Albert gets high on peyote or something and there's some cool CGI. Sorry if I'm spoilering it for anyone.

Sorry, I meant "The sheriff is near"! But A Million Ways was also good in parts. The part about the sidekick's girlfriend being a local bordello "employee" was not really funny after the initial "joke" (if that). I would've preferred less blatant sexual stuff b/c kids can't really see it. Why can't they just make funny movies without all the dross? For some reason the drug stuff bothered me way less, but maybe some parents wouldn't like that for their kids, either.

Yes, Stil, that remains the best of all time!!! Cleavon Little was amazing! Here's my favorite scene, "The mayor is near": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upvZdVK913I

There is only one legendary spoof of The Western: Blazing Saddles. Just my opinion, of course, but it's HEDLEY Lamarr, not HEDY!! http://www.google.com/patents/US2292387

I saw a fun movie tonight: A Million Ways to Die in the West. Great sendup of the genre! A bit too crude in places, but at other points it was very funny!!! :) Image

ImageImageImageImage "The Sisterhood of the Traveling... SMILIES"--opening soon... at theatre near you! Yay-) Image A spin-off, inspired by the similarly-titled 2005 film. PLOT: Instead of a pair of pants/trousers, a number of PMF female posters pass around secondhand SMILIES, from one country to another, all around the world. The same shared smilies are ones that amazingly "fit" into all of their messages and into each of their posting styles, perfectly.

And don't you minimise what you have been through. ANYTHING that debilitates you and affects your quality of life is important whether it is cancer or a hip injury. Now you can move again it must be such a huge relief! Image I cannot imagine having such pain. Ha, the 411 -- no Limbo dancing for me at my age! :) We used to do that in our backyard -- we had a limbo pole (bamboo?) and we had a fireplace, so we had these wonderful "bonfire" parties in our yard, all the neighborhood kids would come, my Dad fixed up a speaker so we could play music outside, it was wonderful! Ah, great memories. I also used to love to do the hula hoop, but alas, any time I've tried in recent years, the hoop will not stay aloft! Thanks for the good wishes, Stil and 411! I got injured using a treadmill machine just about 4 or 5 times, for short periods -- my PT thinks it was the slight incline I used -- I was only going 1-2 miles per hour! It seems unfair that doing something that was supposed to help me be healthier and lose weight would cause so much pain! Ah well, such is life. At least now, I'm getting my "core muscles" more in gear, and that feels good! :)

I just want to share that I've been receiving physical therapy for a hip injury I sustained last year during May, June and July. My last appt was yesterday, and I can almost say I'm "cured." I was so much in pain last year that I could hardly walk or go to my dance class, which are my main forms of exercise. My phys. therapist worked iwth me on my "core" and hip muscles; and it's like I have a new body! Now, the challenge to keep up with my exercises begins! Just wanted to share the good news with y'all! I know it's not much compared to cancer, but... still, it was debilitating my life. Example: I spent a half-hour loading dishes into the dishwasher one day this week. That was unheard of last year -- after five minutes, I'd have to stop. SO, just wanted to share my good news!!! :)
